RIP Jeffrey Catherine Jones

Tom Spurgeon's obituary is the one to read, though Steven Ringgenberg's at TCJ is also certainly worthwhile, and Johnny Bacardi offers a more warmly personal remembrance of the artist.

For myself, I'll just say that Jones's cover illustrations were among the most vital in making me want to start collecting vintage paperbacks. Each is like a window into another world of mystery, beauty, and danger. Without them, without Jones, there might never have been a Groovy Age of Horror.
