turmoil

I can't believe I posted this right as a national horror/tragedy/disgrace was unfolding in real time (I'm referring of course to the Arizona shootings of Congresswoman Giffords and others, which is all over the internets, now that I check). The picture is still not entirely clear, but there are lots of damning circumstances surrounding the incident that won't seem much less damning even if they ultimately turn out to be unrelated. I don't feel like getting any further into it than that. I hit my rage-fatigue point for American politics some time ago. I'm just going to bite my tongue, have a drink, keep scanning my new paperback covers (I'll post a notice when I get them all uploaded to flickr), and keep half an eye on breaking developments. So upsetting.
