I scanned the top image from
Lifestyle Illustration of the 60s, where it's credited to artist Bill Wittingham as having appeared in a 1965 issue of
Woman. The lower image I cropped from the cover of paperback
Decision to Love, from 1972. In the lower-left corner, running up the edge of the man's suit pocket, it looks like the "artist" may have signed it. Here it is, cropped and rotated:
"D. Fritz" is what that looks like to me. Wow, just shameless.
Hardly the first time I've seen that sort of thing, though. And
don't even get me started on
Zora fumetti covers.
