"couldn’t be more Groovy Age of Horror if it were a Dunwich Horror/Devil Rides Out double feature"

That's Sean T. Collins's take on this Scissor Sisters video for "Invisible Light," based on the "period clothing and film stock and visual effects, the kinky aristo-satanic nudity and violence, the lurid editing and colors."    Mike Barthel, via whom Sean found the video, suggests a different double-feature: "there’s a late 60s/early 70s British art film vibe to it (The Shining, The Wicker Man)"--(but then he adds, "it’s supposed to enhance the feeling of being in a debauched gay club"--really?).  Myself, I'd go Italian in my choice of double-feature: Fulci's Lizard in a Woman's Skin:

And Nude for Satan:

Wow, that looks fantastic! I didn't read your comments until I watched this but would defo go with 70s Eurotrash, Italian with a slice of Spanish vibes.

Hmmm.... just noticed THE SHINING ain't exactly a typical example for a British art film and is neither 60s nor 70s. ;-)

what a movie. .it's not a horror, it's skinny thingy.:)

Yeah, SHINING is an odd choice here. If he had to go in that general misdirection, he should have picked ROSEMARY'S BABY.

Nude for Satan is a great movie.
Okay, let me rephrase this :-) It is of course terrible in terms of craft. Still, in some moments it shines.

Well I can't comment on that "feeling of being in a debauched gay club" thing, but what double-feature wouldn't be elevated by "Nude for Satan"?

Geo--maybe if we'd listened to you and checked out that place, THE BACKDOOR. ;-)

I thought most of the nods were to Belle De Jour specifically.

First, you will have to forgive me for my poor english. I'm sorry if I'm late, but reading this post I thought you could enjoy this clip by the galician (spanish) band Triángulo de Amor Bizarro (need no translation, I think):

LOVE THE VIDEO! It captures the groovy feel perfectly. It could almost be a trailer for a late-era Hammer film.
