Recent buys

I've never felt too tempted to check out Walking Dead, but the buzz surrounding the upcoming teevee show wore me down. I just ordered the Compendium, a thousand+ page monster that collects the first 48 issues. We'll see how that goes.

Then, thanks to Bish for cluing me in to this:

More here. Jesus. It looks like groovy overload--just what I'm in the mood for.

Then, I have David Wellington's latest werewolf novel, Overwinter, in hand, and hopefully can get to it soon.

I already read this one. there are elements that are similar to films like Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later, and the like. However, the fact this is an ongoing series and not a two-hour film allows Kirkman and artists Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard to explore what happens over the course of a much longer period of time, and in greater detail. Where would surviving humans go to be safe? Can a new civilization be started?
