I'm glad you thought it was worth the time. I was worried that perhaps it was too inside baseball and some of the topics I forced on the panel worked better on paper then they did on air.
The trick, I think, is getting a crowd that that's genuinely diverse in their opinions. If you pick a amen chorus, you end up with a echo-chamber circle jerk. If you pick people you know to have opposing opinions, it becomes a tediously narrow showdown. Get people with a spectrum of overlapping and conflicting views and you get to hear a group working through things.
