Comic Shops--update

Last week, I couldn't afford all the new comics I wanted, so today, having been paid in the meantime, I figured I'd pop into the sucky comic shop and grab the stuff I missed. Well, some new douchebag employee I've never dealt with before tried to talk me out of buying the last copy of Beasts of Burden #4 (which has been out for a week now), because he wanted it, and called me a "jerk" when I bought it anyway.

you have the worst luck w/comic shops - I only go for Warren Ellis written things, haven't bought pamphlets on a monthly basis for years. Graphic novels look great on my bookshelves.

I'm with Ralph graphic novels and Essentials looks fantastic on my shelves.

Thankfully the comic book stores near is a chain store (New England Comics). Nothing but pleasent people to deal with. Also they actually help people find things and recomend titles you might like. I know thats a shocker. And on top of it all super easy to walk around in and brightly lit.

Haha, I hope you never give up visiting the comic book stores as otherwise we couldn't read about them here. ;-)

Trouble for me here in Ireland is that we have practically no comic stores at all. We have one single store in Cork (second biggest city in the Republic) that is absolutely tiny and has zilch choice. And then there are one or two stores more provided you're willing to travel 100 miles up the country. :-)

I am just back from Amsterdam where I spent New Year and found a comic store there that was absolutely fab with an amazing owner/staff member who went to great details to help explain to some parents what Batman related stuff to buy for their Batman obsessed young son.

Most stores I have ever visited were fun experiences and the only trouble I am having is that I generally live in places that don't have any. or none with a decent choice.

And ordering single comics online for me is just ridiculously expensive due to the postage fees.
