And another sad disappointment from Holloway House!!! It's bizarre, considering how totally right they got the blaxploitation paperbacks (boasting an author lineup that included Donald Goines, Iceberg Slim, and Joseph Nazel, among plenty others). Nazisploitation, though--eh, not so much.
The bookseller I ordered this from was wise enough to include a cover image in the listing. On that basis, I naturally assumed it would be the extremely exploitative tale of a hot Gestapo prisoner's utter humiliation as she got down on her knees on a filthy floor to lick jackboots under threat of the riding crop.
No such luck!
Rather, it's a Dutch boy's uplifting coming-of-age tale set against the troubled years of the war. Ye-gag!!
I hate it when a cover is so abysmally misleading, and this is one of the worst offenders I've encountered. Not recommended.

I'm telling you, 'Go Down Aaron' never disappoints. Though, I would've bought this one for the cover--and would've been pissed if the innards are as boring as you say. :(
BTW - I'm not getting any work done because of this stuff! I have to have this novel to my editor by April...you're not helping.
Wow, too bad. That's a hell of a cover. Even though the book's crap, I took a quick look at our vendors to see if they carried it. It would look nice in my store's window.
