99 Bottles of Scotch on the Screen

Franco Nero in Luigi Bazzoni's The Fifth Cord

Welcome to a new Beyond the Groovy Age feature! I'm going to be posting screencaps of J & B product placement spots in "Eurotrash" movies, a different flick each time, counting down from 99 (hell, I could probably count down from 999, but that's not how the song goes). I'm in no hurry--I'll just do it as I feel like it. If I ever need suggestions, I'll ask for them, but please resist the temptation to inundate me with lists just yet.

As for Fifth Cord, I played a little drinking game where I tried to match Nero swig for swig. I can't remember if I pulled it off.

AWESOME IDEA!

My friend noticed the overexposure of J&B in those films and now we always spot them in our viewings of old films. Just to see that you're making a compilation of this is fabulous, and reassures me that it's cool not to be alone in this ridiculous obsession!

I find the J&B in The Fifth Cord, Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key and The Etruscan Kills again a bit different from the usual, because of the characters' alcohol issues.

Another good one is Emanuelle around the world, where Laura Gemser makes a point of not drinking the J&B at the end and instead goes for another brand.
